NEI Analytical Report: National Employment Index – The Primary Indicator of Labor Market Health in Poland (Q3 2025)
The National Employment Index (NEI) is a new, integrated indicator of labor market health in Poland, combining signals from the real economy, employment, and business sentiment into a single, clear measure. An NEI score of 50 points in the third quarter of 2025 shows an economy at a turning point: on one hand, the labor market remains an employer's market, with rising unemployment and weakening demand for workers; on the other hand, growing GDP, a strong September rebound in sales, exports, and industrial production, and falling inflation create a foundation for a future recovery in employment.
Based on the NEI, the Gremi Personal Analytical Center identifies where stabilization is actually beginning and where companies should prepare for further turbulence—both from an industry and a cost perspective.
In this report, you will find:
- A detailed discussion of the NEI result and its interpretation for the labor market and the economy.
- The structure of the NEI: four sub-indices (Labor Availability, Labor Cost, Business Sentiment, Economic Volatility) and 15 component indices.
- An analysis of why Poland is entering an "employer's market" phase.
- The impact of labor law changes since June 2025 on the number of job vacancies, unemployment registration, and the recruitment process for foreign nationals.
- An assessment of real labor costs.
- Findings from business sentiment surveys.
