Almost half of temporary workers from Ukraine spend up to PLN 600 a month on living here. Benefits from employers, above all free accommodation, help them live frugally. A change of regulations is all the more needed because — as Tomas Bogdevic, general director of the employment agency Gremi Personal, recalls — the profitability of working in Poland is reduced by high inflation and the weakening of the zloty against the hryvnia. Competition from the West is also growing, including Germany, which is preparing to raise its minimum wage to EUR 12.
