President Nawrocki's veto of the law on aid to Ukrainian citizens complicates the situation of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians working in Poland, and also hits the Polish firms that employ them. "I would expect a swift agreement between the presidential and government camps on their employment," comments Andrzej Kubisiak, deputy director of the Polish Economic Institute, in an interview with Interia Biznes. "Otherwise, from 1 October they will be here illegally (and thus illegal work)," notes Bartosz Marczuk, an expert at the Sobieski Institute.
