33% of Ukrainians who left Poland want to return after the quarantine ends. 51% of Ukrainians want to stay and continue working in Poland. These figures were obtained by analysing calls from Ukrainians to a dedicated hotline run by Gremi Personal as part of the “We Are Together” social support programme for Ukrainians, launched by the international recruitment agency Gremi Personal in Poland and Ukraine.
About one third of the callers are interested in working in Poland. For the most part these are Ukrainians who worked in hospitality and catering, tourism, or in companies exporting their products to the countries hardest hit by the pandemic.
22% of Ukrainians calling the programme's free hotline are interested in crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border. Half of them fear deportation if they overstayed a visa or the visa-free period in Poland. The other half ask about the possibility of returning and finding work in Poland.
We remind that the Polish government decided to automatically extend visas and temporary residence and work permits for 30 days after the end of the epidemic. However, this change does not apply to people staying in Poland on the basis of biometric passports.
Since the Gremi Personal line launched on 2 April, 1,257 calls have been received.
