Ukrainian labour migrants are in no hurry to leave Poland due to quarantine

date2020-03-20

Ukrainian labour migrants are in no hurry to leave Poland due to quarantine — an interview with Gremi Personal owner Evgenij Kirichenko for Channel 4 in Russian.

We have data on our workers indicating that no more than 3–4% of Ukrainians returned to Ukraine. The quarantine is unpredictable, which is why Ukrainians are quick to return to their homeland. They do not want to stay in Poland and, after their legal stay expires, work illegally and, as a result, receive a deportation order.

Most Polish manufacturing enterprises are operating normally. On the contrary, food enterprises, as well as supply-chain logistics companies, are increasing the number of jobs. These vacancies are also being filled by Ukrainians who were left without work after restaurants and cafes closed.
