Worker migration to Europe: who protects Ukrainian labour migrants and how
Worker migration to Europe: who protects Ukrainian labour migrants and how — an interview with Evgenij Kirichenko for the Avers TV channel.
Most often Ukrainians know they are working illegally. They agree to a job that pays 1–2 zlotys more, but without official documents. There is also the other side of the coin. First, if something happens at the factory, they are deprived of free medical care because they have no health insurance. Second, the employer can simply not pay them. And finally, if the Polish authorities find out that a worker worked illegally even for a single day, they will receive a fine and a stamp in their passport banning entry to Poland. In this case, it is the employer who suffers least.
I insist – go to work in Poland legally. At the same time, thoroughly check intermediary firms. I recommend carefully studying whether the firm has a website, a YouTube channel, and what reviews about it are online. Companies that spend money on this value their reputation and positive reviews.
