This year, Ukrainians will earn approximately 10% more than last year. This is due to the increase in the minimum wage in Poland. It now stands at 3,410 zloty per month, equivalent to 30,200 hryvnias. Last year it was 3,100 zloty (27,460 hryvnias).

After taxes, the minimum wage amounts to 23,474 hryvnias. Poland raises the minimum wage twice a year, so rates will increase again in July. Despite the significant influx of people from Ukraine, the number of job vacancies in Poland exceeds demand for them. The most popular work remains in the hospitality and restaurant industry as well as in harvest collection.

The analytical center of the international recruitment agency Gremi Personal published a TOP-10 list of job vacancies. Analysts calculated average monthly salaries based on a six-day working week.

Poland also invites Ukrainians to take up permanent positions not tied to seasonality. The most vacancies are in the food industry and logistics. For the simplest jobs — requiring no knowledge of Polish and no special skills — the pay starts from 30,000 hryvnias. Currently, approximately 2 million Ukrainians live in Poland, of whom 1.5 million have received temporary protection status. Additionally, 739,000 Ukrainians are officially employed.

"Seasonal work has its own specifics. For example, in harvest picking, pay depends on the amount of produce collected during a working day. Other jobs we included in our seasonal TOP are paid hourly, and workers can choose how many hours they want to work. After taxes, the minimum is 17 zloty per hour, which equals 150 hryvnias," says Anna Dzhabolda, Director of the Recruitment Department at Gremi Personal.

The agency also highlights the shifting trends in the labor market. While last spring there were almost no available vacancies, this year Ukrainians already have the opportunity to choose from a large number of offers. These circumstances motivate employers to offer the best possible working conditions.
