Questions and answers

What is Umowa zlecenie?

Umowa zlecenie (mandate contract) is a civil law contract, the most common among foreign workers. It's flexible, allows working different hours. Social security contributions (ZUS) are paid from this contract, but it's not regulated by the Labor Code, so it usually doesn't include paid vacation or sick leave.

Does the company help with submitting documents for a residence card?

Yes. Our administration department helps fill out the application, collect necessary documents and sends the complete package to relevant institutions.

What is the success rate for obtaining 3-year residence cards for your employees?

If all documents are in order — the employee receives a residence card.

Does the company issue invitations for opening work visas?

Yes. Details are provided by your recruiter.

What is PESEL and what is it needed for?

PESEL is an 11-digit identification number needed for tax purposes, banking, healthcare and other official matters. The coordinator helps obtain it after arrival.

What to do if the visa or residence card expires?

We issue visa invitations for free or submit documents for a residence card.

Is transport to the workplace organized?

Depends on the vacancy. If work is far from the city or accommodation — transport is usually organized.

Will a coordinator meet at the station and help with accommodation?

Yes, usually a coordinator meets during working hours. If outside working hours — a recruiter or support department helps.

When and where is the employment contract signed?

At the office after arrival (Mon–Fri 8:00 to 16:00).

How does the medical examination work and who pays for it?

Everything depends on the vacancy. At food enterprises, you need to get a health book and tests. The process takes from 1 to several days.

Can you see the enterprise before starting work?

At some enterprises, yes, check with the recruiter.

How long does document processing take?

Depends on the vacancy. Sometimes starting work is possible the day after arrival, sometimes you need to wait 1–1.5 weeks.

Is accommodation provided and what are the conditions?

Yes. On average 500 PLN/month (deducted from salary). Usually 2–4 people per room.

What are the living conditions in accommodation?

There's furniture, household appliances, and basic dishes. You need to have bed linens.

Do I need to bring personal items?

We recommend bringing bedding and necessary dishes, but everything can be bought in Poland too.

Is there Wi-Fi in accommodation?

Yes, usually there is.

Can I see photos of accommodation in advance?

In most cases yes, but not always, because accommodation might be new.

What are the working conditions?

Everything meets standards. Details depend on the specific vacancy.

When is the salary calculated?

From the 15th to 20th of the following month. Advance payment is possible after 5 days of work.

What is the "30 thousand threshold"?

This is non-taxable annual income (30,000 PLN). Up to this amount no tax is withheld, after — a 12% rate applies.

Why might salary decrease after a certain point?

Due to reaching the 30,000 PLN threshold and the start of taxation.

Why is "money deducted" from salary?

These are tax deductions (zaliczki na PIT) that the employer transfers to the tax office.

Why isn't sick leave paid?

Because most work under Umowa zlecenie, which doesn't provide for sick leave payment.

Why don't we hire minors?

Because our vacancies involve full employment, and minors usually look for temporary work.

Why do students pay more for accommodation?

Because students are exempt from taxes, their hourly rate is higher. Even considering higher accommodation fees, they receive more than other workers.

What to bring for border crossing?

Necessary documents (passport, visa, insurance, invitation, etc.). The recruiter provides the list.

How long do I have to wait for an invitation?

From 7 days. From June 1st, waiting time may be longer due to law changes.

Can I take vacation and return to the same position?

Yes, if you agree on dates with the coordinator in advance.
