In recent years, the Ukrainian labour market in Poland has "overheated." The number of vacancies grew, and companies eager to retain their employees were forced to actively expand their benefits packages. During the period of economic stability, workers gradually began to set their own terms on the market. Companies and even entire countries started competing for workers. Ukrainians began choosing where to go: Poland, the Czech Republic, or Germany.

However, a crisis always brings change — and this one is no exception. As a result, on one hand the economic downturn in Ukraine, and on the other a partial decline in production output in Poland, may trigger a return to a situation where the labour market becomes more employer-oriented rather than employee-oriented.
