In Which Polish Cities Could New Ukrainian Consulates Open?

On 20 December, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha announced during a speech to the Verkhovna Rada plans to open two new consular offices in the Republic of Poland.
According to his statement, the new consulates could open in Poznań and Rzeszów.
We should note that nearly three million Ukrainians are currently residing in Poland, of whom approximately one million have settled permanently since the beginning of the full-scale war.
The reaction to Andrii Sybiha's announcement in Poland was positive. Polish MFA spokesperson Paweł Wroński commented on the Ukrainian minister's words as follows:
«We support Ukrainian citizens having the broadest possible consular coverage. So I don't think there will be any problems along this path».
Back in November, Andrii Sybiha told Ukrinform in an interview that Ukraine is awaiting the building of the RF General Consulate in Poznań. The building became available after Russian diplomats were declared persona non grata in Poznań.
For his part, the head of Polish diplomacy Radosław Sikorski stated that Warsaw is approaching the idea of establishing a Ukrainian consulate at the location of the former Russian consular office with «the greatest sympathy».
Poland's MFA noted that should a Ukrainian consulate open in Poznań, the Ukrainian side would need to agree on technical property matters with local authorities.
