The growth was driven by an increase in remittances from migrants coming to Poland for short-term work (up to three months).

"The second quarter of 2020 coincided with the start of the pandemic and the introduction of restrictions on crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border. At that time, many Ukrainians were returning home in a panic. However, Poland later eased its restrictions, migration activity picked up significantly, and Ukrainians are now coming to work in Poland despite the ongoing quarantine," said analyst Tomasz Bogdewicz.
