Not Teachers, but Ukrainians Will Harvest Poland's Strawberries

Ukrainians are a lifeline for the Polish labour market – writes the newspaper Rzeczpospolita. Despite rising unemployment in Poland, there is no shortage of work for Ukrainians. Charter flights organised by Gremi Personal provide a solution for Polish employers who need workers from across the border.

"Workers from Ukraine are needed in food industry companies, in warehouses and in logistics" – says Tomasz Bogdewicz, General Director of Gremi Personal, which will soon bring 185 Ukrainians to Poland on its next charter flight. As Tomasz Bogdewicz notes, the coronavirus pandemic has had no impact on reducing wages for foreign workers.
