Poland Begins Simplifying the Process of Obtaining a Temporary Residence Permit

Poland has begun simplifying the process of obtaining a temporary residence permit for foreigners (the so-called karta pobytu). In particular, the government's proposed bill would eliminate the requirement for foreigners to provide a residential lease agreement, simplify the procedure for obtaining a new residence card when changing employers, and expand the list of reasons for which changes to the residence card are not required (for example, currently a change of position — even within the same company — requires the card to be replaced).
