Poland is changing the rules for calling emergency medical assistance
Poland plans to change the procedure for handling emergency medical calls. This does not involve new numbers or restrictions for patients, but rather the internal organization of dispatch services to reduce ambulance response times.
Currently, calls for medical assistance often go through the general 112 system and are then forwarded to medical dispatchers. The proposed changes aim to simplify this path and speed up the decision to dispatch a medical team.
The number 999 will continue to be a direct line to medical dispatch services. The number 112 will also remain unchanged. Both numbers are free of charge and available 24/7.
For people living in Poland, the rules for calling an ambulance do not change. Medical assistance should be called in cases of a real threat to life or a sudden deterioration in health. The changes are aimed at enabling emergency services to respond faster to such situations.
It is expected that the new approach will reduce the burden on the system and shorten ambulance arrival times to patients.
Advice from Gremi Personal
Always use emergency numbers responsibly. A clear explanation of the situation to the dispatcher helps services act faster and more effectively.
