The Pandemic Did Not Dampen Ukrainians' Desire to Move to Germany and the Czech Republic (2020)

At the onset of the pandemic, the number of Ukrainians travelling to other EU countries declined due to a lack of information on how to navigate quarantine restrictions. However, economic migrants have now adapted to the new reality and are finding ways around the work bans in other EU countries. Ukrainian labour migrants are increasingly seeking to travel and work in these countries on the basis of a Polish work visa or even a standard work permit.
