Exchanging a Ukrainian Driver's Licence: Document Delivered to Poland

Year by year, obtaining and exchanging documents abroad is becoming a less troublesome procedure for Ukrainians.
We have already written about Ukrainian passport services in Poland, where you can obtain or renew your passport.
Recently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced a new service for Ukrainian citizens in Poland, including those who hold a driver's licence.
From now on, to receive an updated driver's licence, there is no need to return to Ukraine. A driver can apply for an exchange online and then order delivery to Poland.
The application can be submitted through the electronic driver's cabinet.
The exchange is available in the following cases:
→ you are replacing a licence issued for the first time (such a licence is valid for 2 years and must then be exchanged for a permanent one);
→ you have lost your document and need a new one;
→ your driver's licence is damaged and can no longer be used;
→ your personal details have changed and need to be updated in the document.
To exchange your driver's licence with delivery to Poland, you need to:
- log in to the electronic cabinet (this can be done via Diia.Sign or the ID gov ua service),
- specify the reason for exchanging the driver's licence,
- select international delivery,
- pay for the service.
The exchange application will be processed by an MIA service centre. The document will then be sent to the chosen branch.
Driver's licences are currently delivered exclusively by Ukrposhta, with an estimated delivery time of 15 days.
The approximate cost of a driver's licence is UAH 310 (this covers the cost of the blank form and administrative fee). International delivery, however, will cost almost UAH 1,000.
We also recently wrote about how to order a card from Ukrainian banks — PrivatBank and Monobank — to Poland.
