How Different Are Salaries in Ukraine and Poland: Top 10 Popular Positions

Average salaries for the top 10 most popular positions were compared between Ukraine and Poland. The analysis was conducted using internal data from the international employment agency Gremi Personal and data from the Ukrainian job search website Work.ua.
The study focused on the most in-demand job listings during the winter period of December 2022 – February 2023. The average salary offered in Ukraine for the position of director is 25,000 hryvnias. For the same role in Poland, the offer stands at 93,000 hryvnias. The largest gap is observed for the position of sales manager: in Ukraine the average offer is 15,000 hryvnias, while in Poland it reaches 92,000 hryvnias.
The lowest salaries within the top 10 popular positions go to cashiers and security guards — 10,000 hryvnias per month in Ukraine, whereas in Poland the same roles offer an average of 35,000 hryvnias.
"The enormous difference in earnings between the two countries means that the number of employed people grows every day. Ukrainians in Poland understand that the war will last longer, so most of them are trying to integrate locally — find work, improve their professional skills, and give themselves a chance to stay for a longer period of time," says Anna Dzhabołda, Director of the Recruitment Department at Gremi Personal.
The agency reports that the trend in hiring Ukrainians in Poland is currently shifting. While just a few years ago demand was primarily for low-skilled workers, the situation has changed noticeably over the past six months. Highly qualified specialists are increasingly being sought. This is driven by several factors. Over the past six months, more than 10,000 Ukrainian businesses have opened in Poland, many of which prefer to hire workers from Ukraine. In addition, a significant number of Ukrainian women have already learned or are actively learning the Polish language, which broadens their employment opportunities in Poland.
