When Will the State Polish Language Exam Take Place in 2025?

The Special State Examination in Polish as a Foreign Language is administered by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language (Państwowa Komisja do spraw Poświadczania Znajomości Języka Polskiego jako Obcego).
Foreigners who pass this exam receive an official state certificate. This document is required for studying or working in Poland, as well as for obtaining Polish citizenship.
When can you take the state Polish language exam in 2025? How much does it cost?
Schedule of State Polish Language Exams in 2025
The state Polish language exam is offered in two formats, depending on the age of the candidates.
The following groups can register for the exam:
→ young people aged 14–17;
→ individuals aged 18 and older.
Please note that if you turn 18 on the day of the exam or before, you must register for the adult exam.
When Will the State Polish Language Exams Be Held in 2025?
The exam schedule for 2025 is announced by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language.
This year, Polish language exams will be held four times throughout the year.
→ 2–3 February 2025 (Sunday/Monday), adult group, levels B1 and B2 (this session is organised to accommodate candidates who cannot attend the exam on a Saturday for religious reasons)
→ 12–13 April 2025 (Saturday–Sunday), adult group, levels B1 and C1
→ 21–22 June 2025 (Saturday–Sunday), adult group, levels B1 and B2
→ 21–22 June 2025 (Saturday–Sunday), youth group, levels B1 and B2
→ 15–16 November 2025 (Saturday–Sunday), adult group, levels B1, C1 and C2
Registration for the State Polish Language Exam

Registration must be completed at the branch where you intend to sit the exam. The list of examination centres is available on the State Commission's website.
What else is important to know about registration?
- Registration for a specific date typically opens approximately two months before the exam. Please be aware that the number of places is limited, and at popular centres spots may fill up very quickly — sometimes within hours or even minutes.
- As a rule, registration requires completing an online form and/or providing an email address.
- A registration confirmation will be sent to your email address within a few days.
- Once you receive confirmation, you can proceed to pay the exam fee.
How Much Does the State Polish Language Exam Cost?
The fee depends on the proficiency level:
→ state exam for children and young people at levels B1 and B2 – €90
→ Polish language exam for adults at levels A1 and A2 – €120
→ exam for adults at levels B1 and B2 – €150
→ exam for adults at levels C1 and C2 – €180
If you pass the exam successfully, an additional €20 is required for the certificate. If you are unsuccessful, the exam fee will not be refunded.
