What Will the Minimum Wage in Poland Be in 2024?

The Polish government is raising the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate for workers on an annual basis — for the seventh consecutive year.
These changes apply to employees working under an employment contract (umowa o pracę), a mandate contract (umowa zlecenia), and a specific-task contract (umowa o dzieło).

How Did the Minimum Wage Change in Poland in 2023?
The first increase in the minimum wage and minimum hourly rate in Poland took effect on 1 January 2023.
🔹 For employees on an employment contract (umowa o pracę), the minimum wage was raised to 3,383 PLN gross. That is 373 PLN more than in 2022.
🔹 The minimum hourly rate for those working under a mandate contract (umowa zlecenia) or a specific-task contract (umowa o dzieło) was also increased — to 22.10 PLN/hour.
A second increase followed in the summer, on 1 July 2023.
- The minimum wage under umowa o pracę rose to 3,600 PLN gross (2,783 PLN net per month).
- The minimum hourly rate under umowa zlecenia and umowa o dzieło – to 23.50 PLN/hour gross (21 PLN/hour net).
Ukrainians who came to Poland to work some time ago — say, a few years back — have already experienced multiple wage increases.
In 2019, the minimum wage in Poland stood at 2,250 PLN per month.
In 2020, workers received 350 PLN more — at least 2,600 PLN.
In 2021, the Polish minimum wage rose further, to 2,800 PLN per month.
How Much Will Workers Earn at Minimum in Poland in 2024?
The first thing to know is that the minimum wage and hourly rate will again be raised in two stages — from 1 January and from 1 July 2024.
🔹 In January, the minimum hourly rate (gross) will increase to 27.70 PLN/hour.
🔹 The minimum monthly wage at Polish companies will rise by 642 PLN, reaching 4,242 PLN gross.
In July, another — somewhat smaller — increase will follow.
- The minimum hourly rate will rise to 28.10 PLN/hour gross.
- The minimum monthly wage will increase to 4,300 PLN gross.
