Free Polish Language Courses for Adults: Where to Register in 2026

For migrants in Poland, proficiency in the official language opens up more opportunities - in the workplace, in dealings with institutions and in everyday life. If you are looking for options to study without any cost, such opportunities exist. The Polish state funds free courses for adult foreign nationals, and registration is still open. In this article, we present three options - where and how you can learn Polish free of charge.

ADRA Polska Programme "Most do Integracji - Silniejsi Razem"

Fundacja ADRA Polska is recruiting participants for free Polish language courses under the programme "Most do Integracji - Silniejsi Razem" (A Bridge to Integration - Stronger Together). The courses are funded from the Labour Fund (Fundusz Pracy) as part of the state programme for the activation of foreign nationals in 2026. Participation is entirely free of charge - no registration fee and no tuition costs.

The programme runs until 30 November 2026, and registration is open now.

Who Can Participate?

To take part, it is sufficient to be an adult and to hold a legal basis of stay in Poland. The programme is open to everyone - both those already in employment and those seeking work or simply wishing to navigate Polish life more confidently.

Where Do the Classes Take Place?

In-person courses are organised in six cities: Gdańsk, Warsaw, Katowice, Sosnowiec, Częstochowa and Wrocław. For those living in other cities or unable to attend in person, an online format is available across the whole of Poland.

Formats and Duration

Two options are available.

• 60-hour course - conducted in Polish, intended primarily for those who already have a basic understanding of the language or speak a Slavic language.
• 150-hour course - conducted in English, designed for those starting from scratch.

Groups are small - up to 15 participants. A separate course in medical Polish is also available for those working or planning to work in the healthcare sector.

How to Register?

1. Complete the preliminary registration form at adra.pl.
2. Take a level assessment test - this is used to place you in the appropriate group, not for grading purposes.
3. Wait for confirmation from the organisers.

Local District Labour Office (PUP)

Some local employment centres organise or fund language courses for foreign nationals. Conditions vary depending on the specific district, so it is worth enquiring directly at your local PUP whether such an option is available.

Public Libraries and Cultural Centres

In Kraków, Warsaw and Wrocław, municipal libraries regularly hold free Polish language classes for foreign nationals. Similar programmes may also exist in your city - it is worth checking the schedule at your local library or cultural centre.
