Ukraine Plans to Open New Consulates in Rzeszów and Poznań by Year-End

By the end of the year, Ukraine plans to significantly expand its diplomatic presence in Poland. According to Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ukrinform news agency, two new consular offices are set to open in the cities of Rzeszów and Poznań.
The announcement was made by Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha during a speech at the Verkhovna Rada. He emphasised that Poland is currently home to the world's second-largest Ukrainian diaspora, comprising both the long-established community and newly arrived Ukrainian citizens.
"We are talking about approximately one million people. We will be strengthening our consular presence. The opening of two additional consular offices in Rzeszów and Poznań is planned," said Sybiha.
In addition, there are plans to upgrade the status of the existing consulate in Gdańsk to a Ukrainian Consulate General.
The Ministry also announced that a similar expansion of the consular network is being prepared in other countries with a significant Ukrainian population, including Romania, Slovakia, Germany, and France.
As Ukrinform reports, Ukraine has also expressed interest in the building of the former Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Poznań, which is currently being vacated following the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
