Where Are the Highest Salaries in Poland?

If you are planning to work in Poland or looking for the most promising cities for employment, it is worth paying attention to the regions where the average salary significantly exceeds the national average.
Data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS) for December 2024 show that in three voivodeship cities the average gross income exceeded 10,000 zlotys.

Salary Leaders in December 2024
First place in the ranking goes to Kraków, where the average salary amounted to 10,678.92 PLN. That is 3.4% more than in November and 9.6% more than a year ago. The largest wage growth was recorded in the culture, entertainment and recreation sector (44.2%) and in real estate services (17.3%). At the same time, the transport and warehousing sector saw a decline of 3%.
Second place is held by Gdańsk, where the average salary reached 10,640.11 PLN. The most notable growth was observed in the real estate sector (19.5%), while accommodation and food services saw a slight decrease of 0.1%.
Third place goes to Warsaw, where the average salary stood at 10,456.10 PLN. The capital also recorded salary growth in the real estate sector – by 17.7%.
Which Cities Lost Their Leading Positions?
As recently as November 2024, the highest average salary was recorded in Katowice, but by December it had fallen to 9,522.53 PLN – nearly 3,000 zlotys less. This is because annual bonuses in that city were paid out as early as November.
Among other cities with high average salaries in December 2024, the following stand out:
→ Wrocław – 9,432.95 PLN,
→ Poznań – 9,411.68 PLN,
→ Szczecin – 9,247.12 PLN.
It is worth noting that the nationwide average monthly gross salary in December 2024 was 8,821.25 PLN. As a result, residents of the leading cities enjoyed a significant income advantage compared to the national average.
