Where Could New Border Crossings Appear on the Ukrainian-Polish Border?

Experience shows that the number of border crossing points between Ukraine and Poland is never sufficient. The border between the two countries stretches 535 kilometres.
Every day, the crossings are used not only by Ukrainians travelling to Poland, but also by those planning to reach other European Union countries.
Where Could New Border Crossings Open?
Recently, Deputy Minister for Community, Territory and Infrastructure Development Serhiy Derkach stated in an interview that negotiations between Ukraine and Poland are underway regarding the opening of new state border crossing points.
The official named the new road border crossings on the Polish-Ukrainian border that could be opened:
🚘 "Adamchuky–Zberezhе" (Volyn region, 160 km from Lutsk)
🚘 "Mlynyshe–Slipche" (Volyn region, 105 km from Lutsk, 120 km from Lviv)
🚘 "Varyazh–Usmezh" (Lviv region, 87 km from Lviv)
🚘 "Belz–Budynin" (Lviv region, 71 km from Lviv).
In addition, the "Nyzhankovychi–Malhowice" crossing (Lviv region, 25 km from Shehyni) may begin operating at full capacity. Currently it functions under temporary infrastructure and handles only empty freight transport. The Deputy Minister announced that this crossing is to be renovated by the end of 2023.
Which Border Crossings Between Ukraine and Poland Are Currently Open?
As of autumn 2023, the following road border crossings are available on the Polish-Ukrainian border:
🚗 Zosin – Ustyluh (Volyn region)
🚗 Dorohusk – Yahodyn (Volyn region)
🚗 Budomierz – Hrushiv (Lviv region)
🚗 Korczowa – Krakovets (Lviv region)
🚗 Dołhobyczów – Uhryniv (Lviv region)
🚗 Medyka – Shehyni (also open as a pedestrian crossing, Lviv region)
🚗 Hrebenne – Rava-Ruska (Lviv region)
🚗 Krościenko – Smilnytsia (Lviv region)
Active railway passenger control points:
🚄 Dorohusk – Yahodyn (Volyn region)
🚄 Hrubieszów – Volodymyr-Volynsky (Volyn region)
🚄 Hrebenne – Rava-Ruska (Lviv region)
🚄 Mostyska – Przemyśl (Lviv region)
🚄 Krościenko – Khyriv (Lviv region)
