President Karol Nawrocki refused to sign the special law extending the legal stay of Ukrainian refugees in Poland until March 2026.

He argued that access to the Polish healthcare system should be granted only to Ukrainians who take up work in Poland. The president stated that until these rules are changed, he will not sign the amendment to the special law. Under the current rules, legal protection applies only until 30 September 2025.
