For decades Germany was seen as the promised destination for Polish workers, but today the situation is changing. Simple jobs are becoming less attractive, while highly qualified professions in sectors such as IT, medicine and energy are gaining importance. At the same time, more and more Poles are deciding to return home or choosing other emigration destinations where wages and living conditions are better. In 2024, for the first time in over a decade, more people left Germany than arrived.
