The gaps in Poland's labour market are so large that even the workers arriving from the East could not fill them. Experts report that demand for seasonal workers is so high that one can speak of a record demand for "hands to work".

A record number of work permits. Despite this, there is still a shortage of people. In the first half of 2021, 998,000 declarations on employing workers from the East were entered into labour office records. As "Rzeczpospolita" reports, this is not only 63% more than a year earlier, but even 18% more than in the first half of 2019.
