A shortage of doctors and nurses is a problem the Polish healthcare system has struggled with for years. The pandemic only worsened the situation. Doctors from the East could be the rescue. As experts stress, in this case too the situation is not simple. Poland has faced staffing shortages among medical personnel for years. Analyses show we rank lowest in Europe for the availability of doctors and nurses (2.4 doctors and 5.3 nurses per 1,000 residents).
