Competencies Are Replacing the CV
The labour market is placing increasingly clear emphasis on real skills rather than simply the
experience listed in a CV. Companies are more and more frequently assessing candidates through
the lens of what they are capable of doing here and now, rather than where they worked
previously.
This is due, in part, to rapid technological changes — according to forecasts, as many as 40% of competencies will undergo transformation by 2030. As a result, the importance of learning ability, adaptability and the practical demonstration of skills — for example through recruitment tasks or a portfolio — is growing. The CV is not disappearing, but it is ceasing to be decisive — increasingly, it serves merely as a starting point, with actual hiring decisions being determined by specific competencies and the potential for development.
