These Countries Are a Staffing Hit. From Saturday, Everything Will Look Different

New rules on the employment of citizens of Colombia, Georgia and Venezuela may significantly complicate the recruitment of foreign workers for Polish companies. From 22 August 2026, people from these countries will no longer be able to take up work under the previous visa-free arrangements, which means longer recruitment procedures and a risk of staff shortages, particularly in manufacturing, logistics and food processing.
Anna Dzhobolda, Strategic Advisor in the Recruitment Department at Gremi Personal, points out that the effects of the changes were already being felt before the rules came into force. This applies in particular to workers from Colombia, who in recent years have become an important source of support for Polish food industry. The new visa requirements may extend the time needed to bring in a worker to six months or more, making it harder for businesses to plan their staffing and maintain operational continuity.
