In recent years, more and more Ukrainian businesses have been opening in Polish cities - and the range of offerings, quality and level of service speak for themselves. In this article, we focus on food and drink, services and retail - the areas where the presence of Ukrainian business is most visible and most interesting.

Online Shopping and Delivery

Ukraine's largest private delivery company, Nova Poshta, entered the Polish market in October 2022 under the Nova Post brand. From a few branches in major cities at launch, the network has grown to over 120 locations across Poland by 2026. The full list of Nova Post branches with addresses is available on the company's website.

Rozetka - the leader in online shopping in Ukraine - is also successfully operating on the Polish market. At rozetka.pl you can purchase computers and home appliances, smartphones, electronics, clothing and footwear, children's products, home goods, pet supplies, hobby and sports accessories, cosmetics and food products. Delivery is via InPost and DPD.

Also worth mentioning is the online cosmetics store MakeUp, with its Polish website makeup.pl. Here you can find cosmetics from Ukrainian brands that are difficult to source in regular Polish shops, and in Warsaw there is a dedicated showroom for personal collection.

Food and Drink

Where to go in Poland for a taste of home?

Walking around major Polish cities, you may spot familiar signs - Lviv Croissants, for example. The chain entered the Polish market in 2022 and now has over 11 locations - in Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Rzeszów, Szczecin and Zgorzelec. The menu at the Polish "Croissants" differs slightly from the Ukrainian version, but the taste is exactly the same as the familiar Lviv original.

The first "Pijana Wiśnia" (Drunk Cherry) nalewka bar opened in Poland as far back as 2018. This format proved popular with Poles and beyond - the chain now has over 15 locations across the country. Lviv nalewkas can be sampled in Warsaw, Kraków, Łódź, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań and Lublin.

In December 2022, the first location of the "Czarnomorka" fish restaurant chain opened in Warsaw. There are currently two - both in Warsaw, at Nowy Świat 49 and Hoża 43/49. The format of the Polish "Czarnomorka" differs somewhat from the Ukrainian original: there are no waiters, but there are consultants who help guests choose fish and seafood. There is also a Poland-exclusive item on the menu - fish żurek soup.

At the end of 2024, the first Polish outlet of Aroma Kava - the largest café chain in Ukraine - opened in Warsaw at Marszałkowska 136.

Milk Bar - a Ukrainian café in an American classic format - has established itself in Warsaw with two locations: in Elektrownia Powiśle at Dobra 42 and in the city centre at Nowogrodzka 6A. Also worth noting is GxMilk Bar in Warsaw - a joint project by Milk Bar and G.Bar, where a café and beauty bar are combined in a single space.

Among other establishments opened by Ukrainian entrepreneurs: Dobro & Dobro - a chain of cafés, sushi bars and prosecco bars in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków, Gdańsk and Kalisz. GAGA - Georgian cuisine restaurants in Warsaw. Ninja Sushi and Sushi Icons - sushi delivery in Warsaw.

Services

The Polish services market is being actively developed by Ukraine's beauty sector.

The G.Bar franchise chain of beauty salons is one of the most recognisable Ukrainian brands in Poland. G.Bar salons attract customers not only with their wide range of services but also with their signature "pink" interior design. There are currently 8 salons in Poland - in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Łódź and Gdańsk.

Among other Ukrainian beauty brands in Poland: the IvRoxe massage salon chain, SoBeauty laser hair removal studios with two locations in Warsaw, and three Fast Line Studio outlets in various cities. In 2024, the Isei perfumery chain opened its first Polish store in Warsaw.

Among other Ukrainian companies offering goods and services in Poland:

  • Ajax Systems - security equipment supplier
  • Lab24 - medical laboratory network
  • Megogo - streaming service
  • Akademia Komputerowa STEP - computer courses in Warsaw
  • Four Zeroes (known in Ukraine as Print24) - fast print service
